Occupational Therapist

carol@potsot.com

With over two decades of specialized pediatric occupational therapy experience, Carol brings exceptional expertise in infant and child development to POTS. Her distinguished career includes 15 years as a Clinical Expert in Occupational Therapy at St. Joseph's Hospital in Paterson, where she developed extensive experience in Level III NICU, intermediate nursery units, PICU, and pediatric step-down units. As an NDT-certified therapist and certified educator of infant massage, Carol has helped countless families navigate the challenges of both typical and atypical development.

Carol's clinical expertise spans a wide range of pediatric conditions, including premature births, congenital musculoskeletal and neurological conditions, and neonatal abstinence syndrome. She played a key role in implementing the SENSE program (Supporting and Enhancing NICU Sensory Experiences) and has particular skill in parent education around positioning, positive touch, and developmental milestones. Her comprehensive background includes working with children with autism, developmental delays, low muscle tone, cerebral palsy, torticollis, and musculoskeletal injuries.

Before specializing in occupational therapy, Carol's journey began in special education, leading her to earn her MS degree from Columbia University. This unique combination of teaching and therapeutic expertise allows her to develop creative, effective solutions that help children feel more comfortable, confident, and capable in their daily activities.

As a mother of two boys, Carol brings both professional expertise and personal understanding to her practice. She believes strongly in partnering with parents, recognizing that they know their children best, and working together to unlock each child's unique potential.

When she's not helping children thrive, Carol maintains an active lifestyle that includes impressive athletic achievements such as climbing the Freedom Tower, completing the NYC Women's Half Marathon, and participating in two triathlons. She enjoys fitness, spending time with her dog Zeus, and cherishing moments with family and friends
